Launched in January 2005, Own the Podium 2010 is a national sport technical initiative designed to help Canada's winter athletes win the most medals possible at the 2010 Winter Games. The goal is for the Paralympic Winter Games is to place in the top three nations (gold medal count). They're on their way to the podium!
Own the Podium 2010 is supported by the Government of Canada, VANOC and its sponsors, Canadian provinces and territories, the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.
Many Sea-to-Sky athletes benefit first hand from this program as they push them to the top of their game when they compete in 2010. Own the Podium will also leave a lasting legacy with a generation of future Olympians who are inspired by these and other 2010 Games heroes.
