The Whistler Media House (WMH) in Whistler, British Columbia, will be open February 1 - 28, 2010 to all qualified media personnel representing media organizations covering the 2010 Winter Games. The main focus of WMH is to provide a central resource facility for media who have not obtained an Olympic accreditation card from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) - referred to as unaccredited media.

Whistler Media House is a full service broadcasting facility, offering secure and fully-wired networking and operating space. WMH provides broadcast transmission, editing and tech support - as well as bookable stand-up locations throughout Whistler Village. In addition to facilitating interviews with athletes, dignitaries and contacts for Whistler-related stories, WMH provides access to resources including an extensive library of images and b-roll.
Whistler Media House offers a variety of mountain resort backdrops for both live and taped stand-up and hosting positions. Each of these positions showcase the dramatic and inspiring winter environment in Whistler, all set within the heart of the action - providing immediate access to Whistler locals and visitors enjoying the 2010 experience.
All of the stand-up locations will be wired with fiber-optic cable back to the main Whistler Media House feed room for distribution to tape or to home studio location. Many of these locations will be fully equipped, covered, and available for booking on an ad hoc basis during the 2010 Winter Games.
NOTICE: The deadline for accreditation application has passed. Whistler Media House has limited capacity and Tourism Whistler's mandate is to focus on media with assignments from outlets in Whistler's target markets. Moving forward, special consideration will be given to applications on a very select basis. Only those applicants under consideration will be contacted regarding the status of accreditation.
