To ensure the smoothest flow of traffic during Games time, a limited number of neighbourhoods will only be accessible with a Localized Vehicle Permit (LVP). The LVP has been created in order to ensure that residents and guests can easily access their properties; decrease congestion and traffic in these neighbourhoods and minimize the chance of having non-residents attempting to part in unauthorized locations.
The Localized Vehicle Permit for the 2010 Olympic Games will be in effect from February 4, to February 28, 2010.
There are only two local roads which will be subject to a localized vehicle permitting checkpoint. Localized Vehicle Permit (LVP) checkpoints will be in operation from March 7 through March 21, 2010. These areas and the checkpoint hours of operation are as follows:
A pre- Games and Games-time Permit Office will be established and operational in Whistler to address issues related to Localized Vehicle Permitting, at Municipal Hall: 4325 Blackcomb Way in Whistler.
