Whistler is home to around 10,000 permanent residents, 2,500 seasonal residents and 9,000 second home owners. It hosts upwards of two million visitors annually and expects to have a daily population of around 55,000 during the 2010 Winter Games. The Resort Municipality of Whistler will continue to operate essential services and some services, as listed below, will be enhanced during the Games.
To ensure the Meadow Park Sports Centre Parking lot is available to the community during the 2010 Winter Games, a three-hour parking limit will be strictly enforced beginning Friday, January 1.
Meadow Park Sports Centre will be open throughout the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Regular hours are seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The facility is home to an indoor kids pool, lap pool, hot tub, steam room, arena, fitness studio, weight room and squash courts.
Located three kilometres north of the Village off Highway 99, Meadow Park Sports Centre is also accessible by foot on the Valley Trail and by the Alpine Meadows #4 or Emerald Estates #3 buses.
